Optional CO₂ Capture System
- Standard MIDREX Flex™ operation recycles CO₂ to the reformer; CO₂ removal is not required.
- Plant can be designed for current or future CO₂ capture integration.
- Option 1: Remove CO₂ from top gas fuel stream (≈50% capture, up to 500,000 t/y CO₂ reduction).
- Option 2: Remove CO₂ from reformer flue gas after heat recovery (near-zero emissions, up to 1,000,000 t/y CO₂ reduction).
- Captured CO₂ may be utilized or permanently stored.
